Huon Valley and surrounds (South East of Hobart)

What does the Huon Valley and Bordeaux have in common? The Huon Valley in Tasmania has a latitude of just over 43 degrees south, and the Bordeaux region in France are at 44 degrees latitude north, and they each have a maritime climate and rainfall pattern which is similar. Come and discover why the vineyard locations are carefully chosen and if the similarities with Bordeaux will continue. Key grape varieties are Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc. Excellent Methode Champenois sparkling wines are also prevalent.
